  • Manufacturer: National Semiconductor
  • Voltage: 5V Max
  • Communication: I2C
  • [Here Spec Sheet]

ADC081C027 is an I2C compatible 8 bit SAR ADC that can operate at I2C clock frequencies up to 3.4 Mhz. It offers 1us conversion time and 188.9 Khz throughput rate. ADC081C027 can work with a wide range of supply voltage (2.7v to 5v) which makes it an ideal choice for prototyping and hobby electronics applications. And further, the ADC can be programmed to alert the host microcontroller through interrupt when the input voltage goes beyond the programmed upper or lower thresholds. This helps a lot to offload the "Read and Compare" operations that has to be done in firmware usually.

Hooking it up

ADC081C027 is available in 6pin TSOT and 8 pin MSOP packages. Each pin has it's functionalities as below.

  • Vin - Analog input voltage
  • SDA - I2C Data
  • SCL - I2C Clock
  • ALERT - ALERT Interrupt
  • ADRx - Address Select Pins (Only available in MSOP package)
