Latching
From bildr
Latching refers to when a system remains in a state after it has been activated till another condition resets it. This is common when referring to a switch or relay. A latching switch will remain closed after the user has stopped pressing the button. The user must press the button again to cause it to unlatch and return to the Normally Closed condition
