The Prallax Propeller is a microcontroller (or Microchip) made by the Parallax Corporation. It has eight onboard processors called cogs that can each execute code simultaneously. Each cog can operate at a speed of 20 MIPS giving it a total speed of 160 MIPS.

The Parallax discussion forums have several sections dedicated to the Propeller or devices controlled by a Propeller: "Propeller Chip", "PropScope", and "HYDRA System & Propeller Game Development".
