Perfboard is a base for prototyping circuit boards. It has holes pre-drilled at set intervals across a grid, usually a square grid of 2.54mm (0.1") spacing. Perfboard can be used for wire wrap prototypes and for solder prototypes. Copper or another metal can be plated onto the substrate in pre-arranged patterns. Discrete components are attached to the prototype board such as resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits. The substrate is typically made of fiberglass or synthetic resin bonded paper.
