Electrical Polarity is a difference in electric potential in a circuit (positive and negative) that allows the movement of electrons through the circuit.

In direct current circuits, one pole is positive and one pole is negative with electrons flowing in only one direction. Typically positive is marked as red with negative marked as black.

In alternating current circuits, poles alternate between positive and negative, causing current flow to continuously change direction.
